I have realized that I have written many deep things on this blog, but overall, there has been no introduction to the small, surface level details of my life. The small things that make me who I am are usually the things that people do not know about me! So I have decided to keep this light-hearted and to share with you an introduction to me!
***
1. I hate lists so I am not going to write this in list form. Lists make me feel too boxed in and rigid...and religious. So this will be the only fact that I share with you next to a number (lol).
So, let's begin this again! My full name is Cortney Rae Norris. I very rarely go by Cortney from my family and close friends. They usually end up calling me Cortney Rae, C-Rae, Corndog (don't ask), or my brother's favorite, Cort. My birthday is in the lovely month of January, when everyone has just gotten over the food coma of Christmas and New Year's.
You may know that Seattle is my favorite city in America but do you know what my third favorite city is? I will keep number 2 a mystery, because, why not?? However, number 3 hands down goes to San Diego.
Although I was born and raised in Texas for 14 years of my life, lived in various places in Georgia/South Carolina for the next 14; the PNW has my heart and Seattle is what I consider "home". No matter where I go, most people ask, "You are not from around here, are you?" However, I am asked that more in the South than anywhere else in the world. Literally.
You may know that I played college soccer for four years, but did you know that I went to seminary at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary? I received an M.A in Religion with a concentration in Worship Studies. I plan to pursue my Ph.D in the next year to two years God willing :) I LOVE to learn and I have been wanting to go back to school since I graduated from my masters program. I will let you know what I choose to study at a later date!
Yes, I am single. So if you are a guy around the ages of "mature, Christ-loving follower and mature emotionally healthy Christ-loving follower", I may just be what you are looking for! Just kidding!! (kind of). If you have followed my story for any length of time, you know that I met Jesus at 28 years old and I was completely saved and delivered out of years of abuse and bondage to living a secret homosexual lifestyle. I do NOT seek to be married to tell the world of my miraculous transforming-life... the power of the blood of Jesus testifies the work in and of itself. If there ever comes a day when Cortney Rae gets married, you need to know that it will be because the work on this earth for the kingdom of God can be done at a greater depth and width with a man that I love if God so chooses. Other than that, I am content in my singleness and assured in God's provision and promises over my life.
(ok...I got too deep there...let's go back up to the surface)
My favorite color is white which is the absence of color... however, my favorite accent color is gray.
My favorite person was my grandmother, Doris Norris (yes, that really was her name). She is with Jesus now, but she spent 97 years of her life waiting to be with Him.
I have lots of tattoos and all of them are on my arms, except for one... it was the first tattoo I ever got and it is a rib piece. Thank God we do stupid things first so that the good stuff seems really good the second time around!
Favorite food: tacos...
Favorite dessert: tacos...
Favorite snack: tacos...
JUST FEED ME TACOS...
Well, everyone! That is all that I have for you today. These are just some of my little treasures I like to keep tucked away in my heart. I always appreciate the support and love that I get from all of you who read! You are deeply loved and adored!
By Grace,
Cortney Rae
