Happy 1st day of Autumn!! I am taking a short break from the series on Chasing The Glory and I wanted to write out a top 10 list of some of my favorite things about Fall! I would love to hear back from you on what some of your favorite things are so remember to comment below!
Fall is a season where creation is telling us that the time for rest and remembrance is on its way. We speak of things like thankfulness and gratitude. We begin mapping out our holiday schedule to see family and friends. So! Here are a few of my favorite things!
1. Every Fall, I begin with a Pumpkin Spiced Latte. Today, I will be going to Urban Coffee Lounge and delighting myself in one. Yummy!! (we will see how my stomach handles that after being sick for a week!...)
2. Leaves changing!! I absolutely love, love, love watching the trees change colors!
3. Campfires...fire mesmerizes me... you can find me sitting next to a fire in deep thought with a content look on my face because well, I can't be bothered. haha
4. Sweaters and layering. One of the reasons that I think God put me in the PNW is because He knew that my sense of style involves layering my clothes. It is one of my favorite things!
5. Coffee and cold weather is just a beautiful thing.
6. There is a slight shift in family time...people come close to one another and share meals. The whole idea of breaking bread with family (by choice and blood relatives) makes my heart squishy.
7. Don't judge me...I begin listening to Christy Nockle's Christmas album, A Thrill of Hope, starting at this time. It is an album that reminds me to keep my focus on what really matters instead of getting tangled up in the shopping and doing.
8. My city of Seattle. It is my favorite city in every season...but there is something about it during this time because I remember that "gray looks good on you, Seattle."
9. Trader Joe's has everything "pumpkin". Literally. It brings me joy watching people come into the store and raving over all of their favorite products and being able to deliver those things in their hands. People who are happy...make me happy. haha
10. Curling up with a blanket on a Sunday afternoon and watching it rain. Few things bring me into rest like the wind and rain to remind me that God gives me all that I need.
Happy Fall, everyone!! Do not forget to comment below on some of your favorite things! I would love to hear back from you!
